Welcome to Skywave PDF (formerly PDF Lite). Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we handle your data and protect your privacy when you use our app.

1. Document Data & File Processing

  • No Document Uploads: All PDF operations (viewing, creating, editing, merging, splitting, compressing, converting) are performed locally on your device.
  • No files, documents, or sensitive data are uploaded to any server or cloud storage.
  • Files Storage: All created/edited PDF files are safely saved to your device's Downloads/Pdfskywave folder or temporary cache for easy access.

2. Third-Party Services & Analytics

To improve your experience and support the app, we use trusted third-party services that may collect certain device or usage data over the internet:

  • Google Analytics for Firebase: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app (e.g., which tools are used most, crash reports) to help us improve the app. This data is anonymous and does not include personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Google AdMob (Mobile Ads): We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers, cookies, and network information to provide personalized or non-personalized ads.
  • Firebase Realtime Database: Used to securely fetch dynamic app configurations (like ad unit placements).

3. Permissions

The app requires the following permissions to function properly:

  • Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): To read existing PDF files and save new/edited PDF files to your device.
  • Camera (CAMERA): To scan physical documents and convert them to PDF using the Document Scanner. Camera is only accessed when you explicitly open the scanner.
  • Internet & Network State: Required to fetch ads from Google AdMob, fetch configurations from Firebase, and report anonymous usage analytics.

4. Data Security

  • Your PDF files and scanned images remain strictly on your device and are never shared externally.
  • Camera access is only used temporarily during active scanning and is never used in the background.

5. Changes to Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new policy.
