Welcome to GalleryLock (Calculator Vault & Media Hider). Your privacy and data security are our top priorities. This Privacy Policy details the types of information we handle, how your personal files are stored, and our strict commitment to zero cloud transmission of your private media.

1. Local Storage & Zero Cloud Uploads

GalleryLock operates primarily as an offline, disguised security vault on your device:

  • Strictly Local Storage: All files you hide (Photos, Videos, Audios, and Documents) remain strictly on your local device. We NEVER upload, sync, transfer, or stream your private vault files to any cloud server or third party.
  • Encrypted PIN & Security: Your 4-digit secret PIN is hashed and stored securely using Android's encrypted storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences). We do not have access to your PIN or password.
  • No Account Required: You are not required to provide any personal identifiable information (email, phone number, name, or profile) to use the vault.

2. Permissions Requested & Why We Need Them

To provide core vault operations and media protection, GalleryLock requires specific permissions:

  • MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All Files Access - Android 11+): Required specifically to move, hide, rename, and restore files (photos, videos, audio, documents) between your public folders and the secure vault directory. Without this permission, Android prevents the app from protecting your documents and media files.
  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES & READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (Android 13+): Allows you to browse, select, and import your photos and videos into the disguised calculator vault.
  • USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT: Optional biometric authentication allowing you to unlock your vault quickly with your device's fingerprint sensor. Biometric data is processed entirely by your device hardware; the app never accesses or stores your raw biometric fingerprint.
  • INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used solely to load mobile advertisements (Google AdMob) and sync remote ad configuration via Firebase Realtime Database. Your private media is NEVER transferred over the internet.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To keep the application free for users, we utilize industry-standard Google services:

  • Google AdMob: Serves banner, interstitial, app-open, and native ads. Google AdMob may collect anonymous device identifiers, approximate location, or advertising IDs strictly to serve relevant ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase Realtime Database & Analytics: Used to dynamically manage remote ad configurations and monitor anonymous crash / performance metrics. No private vault files or PINs are ever sent to Firebase.

4. Disguised Calculator Operation

The application functions as a fully working scientific calculator to protect your privacy from shoulder surfing. Access to your hidden vault is granted only when you enter your pre-configured 4-digit secret PIN followed by the equals (=) button.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all hidden files are stored locally on your device's physical storage, you maintain 100% control over your data. When you delete a file from the vault, it is permanently erased from your device. If you uninstall the app without restoring your files, your hidden files may be deleted by the Android OS.

6. Children's Privacy

GalleryLock is not designed to collect personal information from children under the age of 13. We do not intentionally collect or process data from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app enhancements or legal requirements. Updates will be effective upon posting with the revised "Last updated" date.
